Dunblane Develoment Trust - In Bloom NewsMay 2004 Our band of volunteers has been busy over the past weeks in particular down at the memorial park tidying the two ornamental beds planted with heathers, azaleas and conifers. The railway embankment local to Bridgend has been cleared of brambles and other wild vegetation. The ornamental garden local to the Faery Bridge has been cleared and planted with herbaceous plants. Our polytunnel is filling up with begonias hardening off in readiness for final planting, with other annuals, in the raised bed roundabout at the top of the high street. Mowlawn are well ahead preparing the half barrel tubs destined for the high street. We have acquired a large polycarbonate tank which will be adapted for watering purposes. We have acquired a substantial amount of redundant railings to replace the trashed wooden fence at the ornamental garden at the Faery Bridge. At Ochlochy Pond work has been in progress upgrading bridges and hard standing for disabled access |
