COMMUNITY COUNCIL FIGHTING ON A NUMBER OF FRONTS

Elsewhere in this publication are articles about Community Council work on engaging with the young, developing our Health Centre, resolving Abbotsford and dealing with Planning Applications. But there are many other issues that we are dealing with.

We do not want to take too much of the editorial space in this publication, so here is a list of the other main issues:

  • The potential closure of our Burgh Chambers.
  • The Consultations about upgrading and possible re-location of the main North/South electricity power lines to increase capacity from 132,000 volts to 400,000 volts.
  • Consultations on the possible devolvement of more powers and responsibilities to Community Councils.
  • Ongoing discussions with Stirling Council regarding bins and recycling.
  • Ongoing work relating to the National cycleway network routes through Dunblane.
  • Ongoing work to try and find the best way to provide for car parking in and around the Centre.
  • Participation in the Public Private Partnership project aimed at upgrading our High School.
  • Ongoing work with our Police to try and deal with community concerns.

These are all important and interesting subjects and it is vital that we play our part by making positive contributions and ensuring that the interests of our community are not forgotten or ignored.

We still have vacancies on the Community Council that we would love to fill so that we can participate fully in all these matters. If you have an interest and a little time to give, even if you do not want to become a Community Councillor, please come along to one of our monthly meetings. You will be made very welcome and you will be given every opportunity to contribute to our debates and to raise any matters of particular concern to you.

If you are unable to come to Community Council meetings, but wish to be kept up to date, the Minutes of our meetings are available in the library, on the Community Council Notice Board in the High Street or by logging on to dunblaneweb.co.uk

You may also write at any time to The Secretary, 25, Montrose Way , Dunblane FK15 9JL .
