Dunblane Station in 1880. The present footbridge over the main line being erected in 1895. The station was opened to traffic in 1848, and at this time the main road came through Claredon Place to cross the present post office. When the Callander line was opened in 1858 Dunblane became an Important junction with a large goods yard which occupied the area of the minister's old glebe. In 1866 the railway company constructed a by-pass by building sunnyside and the railway bridge at Stirling Road, and made a new road round by Springfield Terrace to join the Doune Road.
